Thermodynamics 225 (TDN620S) is a fundamental core course in the fourth semester for Bachelor of Engineering programs, designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of thermodynamic principles. The course delves into the foundational concepts of thermodynamics, essential for mastering the operation and analysis of energy systems.

 

Students will explore the laws of thermodynamics, including the first and second laws, and their applications in real-world engineering contexts. The curriculum covers the operational principles and efficiencies of various energy systems, including steam power plants, diesel and petrol engines, gas turbine power plants, and refrigeration systems. Emphasis is placed on the practical implications of these principles in designing and optimizing energy systems, preparing students to tackle challenges in power generation, systems, and thermal management.
