Course Description:

The aim of the course is to enable the students to translate technical drawings of multi-storey building works into quantifiable work items as per the standard method of measurement.

Course Content:

Measurement and description of the following elements of multi-storey building works:

·        Concrete framed structures.

·        Steel framed structures.

·        Cladding.

·        Underpinned works.

·        Basements.

·        Abstract and billing using Microsoft Excel.

 Reference to manufacturer catalogues and the Model Preambles regarding the following:

·        Precast and pre-stressed concrete beams and floors.

·        Standard metal doors and windows.

·        Standard timber doors and windows.

·        Glass.

·        Prefabricated timber trusses.

·        Abstract and billing using Microsoft Excel.
