Work Integrated Learning (BWI711S)

This course provides an opportunity to the Bachelor of Business Management students to acquire practical experience of skills, practices and approaches necessary for their career field. The overall goal of the fifteen-week internship is for the students to actively participate in small business/entrepreneurial processes. The internship should provide opportunities for the students to work closely with professionals to be able to gain experience in their field of study in a business/small and medium enterprise environment.  In order for the internship to be meaningful and successful, the student should meet the requirements set by the institution before s/he can start the internship.

The students register for this course in the first or second semester of year three of the programme upon successfully passing all the second year subjects. The notional hours of the course are 360 hours (approximately 15 weeks). The starting time of the internship allows for some flexibility if the internship commences earlier than the official start of the semester.
